Anne Arundel Community College and CHEM recently co-sponsored a workshop entitled Collaboration in the Arts: A Conference in Music on March 14th and 15th, 2003 that featured workshops and performances by guest conductor David Barg and virtuoso vocalist Roger Treece.
Towson University and CHEM recently co-sponsored a retreat entitled Meeting the Challenge in Music Education on October 11, 2003, which included Keynote Speakers Lillian Pailen (Coordinator PreK-12 Choral Music, Montgomery County) and C. Nelson Fritts (Instructional Coordinator of Fine Arts, Cecil County) discussing the topic Required Skills and Education for First-Year Teachers. Additional activities included presentations by music representatives from Maryland universities and colleges discussing the topic of Addressing Mandates for Higher Education in Maryland.
CHEM plans to continue to develop exciting musical projects.
